Sponsor a child

The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs Sponsor-A-Child Program provides funds to help team members travel to the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. Travel cost per player is estimated at $2000. Our goal is to find a $500 pledges for each child.

Team Stats

• The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs is a competitive wheelchair basketball team for children with motor challenges
• Players travel from all over North Texas to practice at Bachman Recreational Center in Dallas.
• Players range in age from 5 years to 18years
• Our team goals include increasing motor skill, developing friendships and providing players with the opportunity to advance to the collegiate level of play, post high school.
• The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs emphasize academics with No Pass - No Play standards
• The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs JV division has achieved back to back national championships in 2010 and again 2011
• The Dallas Jr Wheelchair Mavs Prep division achieved its first national championship in 2011.

Process

• An interested company or individual pledges to support a player that matches criteria selected by that company. (Please fill out Pledge Form)
• The company or individual donates the pledged money to the Dallas Jr W/C Mavs by sending a check to our P.O. Box. (Enclose Pledge Form)
• The Dallas Jr Mavs Coaches/Board selects the player who best matches the company's criteria.
• The company receives the Player's biography indicating criteria match 2 weeks prior to the National Tournament.
• The child's parent turns in receipts indicating Travel and Hotel expenses to the Dallas Jr Mavs Board within 14 business days of the National Tournament.
• The parent then receives a reimbursement check from the Dallas Jr Mavs for $500 to reimburse player's parent for the Travel and Hotel Expenses that occurred at the national games.

**A child can only receive one "Sponsor-A-Child" pledge per year.

**In circumstances when one child meets criteria for 2 sponsorships the next closest match will be honored.

**Team General Funds will be utilized to support players who do not receive sponsorship from outside companies.
