Being a Mav means a lot honestly. It has impacted me in ways that’s hard to explain in just a couple paragraphs lol, but the program has honesty made me realize how much of a leader I am and I’m not just pinpointing that to basketball. I am a leader off the court as well. I wasn’t in the know of that before joining the Mavs. This program has not only helped me grow as an individual but has also made me more confident within myself. There’s sooooooo much more I can say but to wrap it all up this program has helped me tap in to my confidence like no other. Thank y’all!

Being a Mav has had a big impact in my life. Relating to people has always been an issue in my life and being able to relate to others and feel comfortable is a great experience. Being a Dallas Jr. Wheelchair Maverick means being respectful, responsible, competitive, and hard-working on the court and through life. A Mav means working to be the best person and athlete you can be through hard work and determination. A Mav takes pride in any victory, whether big or small. We lift each other with encouragement and support through all challenges. This program saved me from a sedentary childhood and gave me lifelong friends, a healthy mindset, and college opportunities. I wouldn't be the same person now if I hadn't joined this program, and I am eternally grateful for that.
